We are protesting the deaths, arrests and
kidnapping of innocent Christians, adults and children, in Egypt. As in
other Muslim dominated countries, Christians in Egypt do not have
freedom of religion, freedom of speech, adequate protection from the
police, or just representation in government. Applications for church
building permits are regularly denied.
Christians in Islamic states live constantly under threat of attack or
retaliation from their Muslim neighbors because of the aggressive
teachings of Islam. They live in fear for their families, their lives
and their property, simply because they are Christians. Conditions for
Christians are rapidly growing worse in Egypt under a tyrannical regime
that the United States funds and supports.
We demand that Christians and Christian churches be given the same
freedom to worship in Egypt as Muslims have in the United States. We
demand that their basic human rights be protected.
America and the Christian church of today has fallen into a false sense
of security and has convinced themselves that everything will always be
peaceful and safe. Both history and current events tell us that simply
is not the case. Islam as a totalitarian political force is growing more
powerful all over the world. Islam is death. If we do not take a stand
and raise our voices all will be lost.
